PhD selection process

If you already have an undergraduate degree in any area of knowledge and want to study for a master's degree in anthropology, we open up places for new classes every year, for admission in the first semester of each academic year. The selection process is based on a call for applications, which includes open competition, places for residents abroad and an affirmative action policy for self-declared blacks, indigenous people, quilombolas and people with disabilities. The notices always publish the number of vacancies for orientation, in addition to the vacancies planned for admission.

Residents in Brazil

If you live in Brazil, whether you are Brazilian or a foreigner.
The selection process analyzes
- theoretical test and research project;  
- seu currículo e histórico escolar;
- basic proficiency in English and French.  

Residents abroad

If you live outside Brazil, whether you are Brazilian or a foreigner.
The selection process analyzes
- theoretical test and research project;  
- seu currículo e histórico escolar;
- basic proficiency in English and French.  

Call for applications for indigenous people and quilombolas

If you are indigenous or a quilombola.
The selection process analyzes
- research project;
- a letter of recommendation from the candidate's community of origin and their academic background; 
- your performance in a remote oral exam;
- a basic knowledge of English, with the possibility of further training at UnB after joining the course.
