What is anthropology and why do we need it?
Anthropology is what we now call a branch of the social sciences that focuses on understanding and studying the differences between ways of life in society. It involves understanding systems of thought, meanings, ways of explaining the world, forms of institutional organization of relations between people and groups, in short, everything that is involved in the realization of human life in different places and social contexts in the contemporary world.
DAN Seminars

The DAN Seminars are the Department of Anthropology's main academic event, bringing together professors, researchers and students for over 40 years to discuss current issues in anthropological research. The event currently takes place once a month, with a guest presenting the results of ongoing research for discussion with the DAN community.
